Join us for Whiskey Jack's fifth annual celebration of the music and the legacy of Mr. Canada, Stompin' Tom Connors. Featuring their successful touring show, Stories & Songs of Stompin' Tom, and a roster of Special Guests, this show will be a co-production of Zoomer Media, which includes AM 740 (96.7 FM in Downtown Toronto), Classical 96.3 CFMZ -FM and CARP (Canadian Association for Retired Persons).
In the coming weeks, tune into AM 740 (96.7 FM in Toronto) and hear Duncan being interviewed about the birthday celebration and the 2018 tour.
Zoomer Hall is a state of the art media facility that features the best in audio and video equipment. As in past years, you can expect some very special guests to be on stage with the band. Confirmed guests will be announced soon but as the show's producer Duncan Fremlin says, “you never know who's going to show up! At last year's concert, in one of the worst storms of the winter, we were joined by Gordon Lightfoot, Lena Connors and the Hon. Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario.”
The musical ride at this year's show will be a showcase of the new, 2018 Stories & Songs of Stompin' Tom touring show. Highlights will include a modern take on Tom's classic Toronto song, TTC Skidaddler, a Barbershop style arrangement of Alberta Rose and much more from this amazing catalogue of Canadian songs.
A regular back-up band for Stompin’ Tom from 1993 to his death, Whiskey Jack will be bringing these songs and more to many theatres, festivals and fairs from the Maritimes to Central Canada. For a list, go to www.stompintom.com
Whiskey Jack is Duncan Fremlin (Vocal & Banjo), Douglas John Cameron (Vocal & Guitar), Randy Morrison (Fiddle) and Jen Cook (Vocal). Supported by Eric Jackson on bass, Al Cross on drums and other musical guests.
