During our visit to Wilberforce Ontario earlier this month, we very much enjoyed chatting and generally hanging around with the fans after the show. Tom's fans are very easy to enjoy because they have known and loved Tom, many for many more years than us whipper snappers. I often think of our shows as a sort of Stompin' Tom love-in!
One fan in particular was quite articulate and demonstrated a great deal of knowledge about Tom and his music. He told us he was quite moved by our show (as was demonstrated when he and the crowd offered up a very humbling and effusive standing ovation). Then he made a most eloquent statement... he said, "a good name for your show would be, "Whiskey Jack & Stompin' Tom, Up Close and Personal".
I was impressed because he clearly understood what the show was all about and because he was able to capture the essence of the show with four simple words..."Up Close & Personal".
I'm sorry I didn't get the gentleman's name but I thank him in his absence.
