Gordie Tapp & Whiskey Jack Rock the Stratford Legion

At 93, Canadian icon, Gordie Tapp can still inspire side splitting laughter followed by a standing ovation.  Said Gordie, "a standing ovation...the best compliment an entertainer can receive.  Thank you!".

It was a trip down memory lane for all of us in the band as well as the 260 fans who clapped and laughed all evening.  We started with the Don Messer theme, moved on to salute the Tommy Hunter Show, Wilf Carter, Hank Snow (Howard Willett really nailed I'm Movin' On), King Ganham (Randy Morrison did him proud), Lucille Starr (should have heard Jen Cook's version of The French Song) and of course our own legend, Bob McNiven brought the house down with his own song, One More Time.

We featured the song that we first sang with Gordie on The Tommy Hunter show in 1982, Too Old To Cut The Mustard.  What a night!

In this photo, Gordie, Eric Jackson and I are sharing a spontaneous version of a song familiar to all Hee Haw fans, Pfft You Were Gone.
