The accolades started arriving almost immediately. The fans of Whiskey Jack and The Good Brothers let us know that they liked this collaboration very much. It was an idea that our promoter Shaun Pilot made happen and it turned out as he planned. The Regent Theatre in Picton was the venue and the date was Friday, June 15, 2018.
We began the evening with an hour of Stories & Songs of Stompin' Tom....SPONTANEOUS STANDING OVATION! We were thrilled to be sharing the stage with these Canadian legends so this response was quite moving.
We had already enjoyed a lot of time with "the boys" having taped a two hour radio show on the Tuesday. Brian and Larry drove down from the north and we had tons of laughs and spun a few discs. Check it out here. By the time we got to Picton, we were all anxious to get the show underway.
The Green Room and the subsequent pre-show dinner offered more opportunities for road stories and many laughs. Class is the best word to describe this group of musicians. They brought along fiddle great Wayne Ferguson and their long time bass player, Kevin Luciani.
It's no surprise that they too brought the fans to their feet!
What a night.
